When I think of classic sweet treat flavor combinations, I immediately think of chocolate and peanut butter. It’s a combo that we’ve all known and loved since time out of mind. I remember snacking on Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups when I was a kid, and I remember my mom and grandmother both making delicious cookies and sweets that combined peanut butter and chocolate. So, for me, chocolate and peanut butter are always a match made in Heaven.

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

I’ve loved the flavor combination of chocolate and peanut butter since I was a kid, and since I started cooking, these peanut butter blossom cookies have been a go-to recipe for me when I need to scratch that chocolate peanut butter itch. These cookies were one of the first cookie recipes I learned to make as an adult, and even before I was married and had my children, I made these cookies quite often.

After the kids were born, I made these cookies even more. They’re delicious, which is key, of course. They’re also super easy, which is equally important. That combination makes these the perfect cookies to whip up for special occasions in addition to simple weekday snacks or desserts. I often made these cookies for my kids’ birthday parties or for holiday get-togethers or backyard parties. I actually still do. I’m known to show up with plates of these cookies for everyone to enjoy and enjoy them, they do!

That’s why I’m sharing this peanut butter blossom cookies recipe with you. I know you’ll enjoy it as much as my family does, and I know you’ll be extra happy about how easy they are to make! These chocolate peanut butter dreams are absolutely full of chocolate and peanut butter flavor, and that slightly melted Hershey’s Kiss nestled in the center of a crumbly, delicious peanut butter cookie is one combination that just never gets old!

Tips

These delicious peanut butter blossom cookies are incredibly easy to make. It’s a simple peanut butter cookie recipe with an added Hershey’s Kiss at the end. It doesn’t get much easier than that when it comes to cookie recipes. However, as simple as these cookies are, there are still a couple of things to remember when making the cookies to ensure that you get the tastiest outcome possible. Be sure to read over these tips before baking your cookies for the best results.

Room Temperature Butter and Eggs

It’s important to have your butter at room temperature before creaming it with the sugars. This ensures that everything incorporates evenly and uniformly with no chunks or lumpiness. The same is true of eggs. You want your eggs to be at room temperature. Even though they’re already very liquid-like it’s easier to incorporate the yolk when the eggs are at room temperature, again, ensuring that they incorporate well.

Place the Kisses Immediately

It’s important that you place your Hershey’s Kisses in the center of your peanut butter cookies immediately. This ensures that the Kisses get a perfect consistency. The heat of the cookies will melt the bottom of the Kisses just enough to allow them to sink into the cookie and soften the entire Kiss just right.

Substitutions

This recipe calls for chunky peanut butter, but you can use creamy peanut butter instead, if desired. It will taste just as delicious. The texture will just be a bit different. And, you can also forgo the coarse sugar if you don’t want the added sweetness. The coarse sugar is just a little something to gild the lily. It’s not totally necessary.

Serving Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

These peanut butter blossom cookies are classic and are perfect for any occasion. Cook up a batch as snacks for the week, a special weekend treat, or bring them to a potluck or holiday get-together. Everyone loves peanut butter and chocolate, and these cookies are festive enough to be welcome anywhere. Simply serve them up with a glass of milk or set them out on a tray at a party and let everyone grab and go.

Storing Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

These peanut butter blossom cookies last for quite a while. they can be stored in an air-tight container on the counter for two to three weeks, so there’s no need to worry that they’ll go bad before you finish eating them. For longer storage, you can freeze these cookies for up to three months. To freeze the cookies, layer the cookies in an air-tight container with parchment paper between each layer to keep the cookies from sticking. To defrost them, just pop the container in the fridge and let them defrost in the refrigerator.

Give These Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies a Try

These peanut butter blossom cookies are so good and so easy to make. They’re the kind of recipe that you can whip up whenever the mood strikes. They’re always welcome, and you’ll be in and out of the kitchen in no time flat. With a recipe this delicious and easy, there’s no reason not to give them a try. So gear up for baking, and give these cookies a try. I guarantee you’ll find yourself making them again and again.
