Southwest Breakfast Quiche

Breakfast really is an important meal. It gets you going and sets you up for a productive day. This breakfast quiche is so easy to make, you won’t want to skip it. The best part about this breakfast recipe is that you can use it as part of a cook once eat twice plan. With this breakfast quiche, you can make breakfast once, and eat it all week. It is easy to heat up and tastes just as good as leftovers.

Does a Quiche have a crust?

Yes, this quiche has a crust. The crust is a delicious pie crust that you will want to make from scratch. It is the perfect pie dough recipe that is flaky and buttery and is absolute perfection. If you want to make this recipe with less carbs or cannot have the pie crust for whatever reason, you can make it without it.

Can breakfast quiche be reheated?

This quiche is perfect for reheating. I love making a batch on the weekend and then reheat it for breakfast all week long. It makes a great fast breakfast and can be a real time-saver in busy mornings.

I reheat the quiche in the microwave. I take a wedge of the quiche and place it on a microwave safe plate. The reheat the quiche for about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on your microwave. I would start with 30 seconds at a time to avoid overheating it.

How to Store

You will want to keep this quiche in the refrigerator. It is important that you have it stored in an airtight container. This keeps the quiche lasting the longest and keeps the flavors just as good as the day it was made. The quiche will last for about 5 days. If you do not think it will be finished before it goes bad, you should consider freezing it.

Can this Breakfast Quiche be Frozen

I love freezing this quiche. It is a great way to have it on hand whenever we want it. I like to store it in air tight container or in freezer bags. I portion it into smaller individual sizes so that it is easy to remove a single piece at a time. If I think about it ahead of time, I will let it thaw in the refrigerator, but it can be reheated from frozen as well.

Can I use store bought pie dough

If you are pressed for time or do not have the ingredients on hand, you can use a store bought pie crust, however, it will not be as good as this pie dough recipe. It is rare that something store bought is as good as homemade but it will work in a pinch.
