My Instant Pot chicken sausage Alfredo is a quick and easy meal that’s ready in no time and loaded with tender chicken, smoky sausage in a rich, creamy Alfredo sauce.

This hearty, creamy chicken and sausage Alfredo is a one-pot meal loaded with a truckload of flavor and almost no work. Pair it with garlic knots and mini peanut butter cookies for a super-tasty, super-easy meal!

How to Make Instant Pot Chicken Sausage Alfredo Pasta

I’ve included a brief overview of this easy recipe here, but you can find the exact instructions in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  1. Cook the chicken, sausage, and onions using the saute function.
  2. Add the seasonings, cream cheese, and butter. Then, add the heavy cream, milk, and broth when the cream cheese is melted.
  3. Stir in the cheese, add the pasta, and cook on high pressure.
  4. Quick release and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Your chicken should be cut into ½-inch chunks for even cooking and easy eating.
  • Slice your sausage into ¼-inch-thick slices for even cooking and easy eating.
  • Liberally spray the interior of your Instant Pot with nonstick spray to prevent burning.
  • Stir the meat constantly to prevent burning.
  • Be careful when quick-releasing the steam. Don’t get close to the vent!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, cut into ½"-¾" chunks
  • 1 pkg smoked sausage, sliced ¼" thick
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (I used Slap Ya Mama®)
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • ¾ cup butter, divided
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 14.5 oz can chicken broth
  • 5 oz Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated, about 3 cups (Not the green container).
  • 12 oz box Penne pasta

Instructions
 

  • Generously spray the inside of the pot with a non stick spray.
  • Add cut up chicken, sliced sausage and onions in pot with ½ stick of butter.
  • Press "Saute" and saute until chicken is not longer pink and sausage edges have browned a bit.
  • Stir in seasonings, salt and pepper.
  • Next, add cream cheese and 1 stick of butter.
  • Once melted, pour heavy cream, milk and chicken broth, stir.
  • Stir in cheese.
  • Add pasta, stir make sure to set the pressure value to "sealing," press "manual," "high pressure" and cook for 6 minutes.
  • Use quick release by carefully switching the value to "venting." Open lid once the float valve drops. Stir and serve.

      My pot kept going to overheat could not get to go to pressure. The cheese was burning on bottom next time I’ll put cheese in last.
