Cranberry orange cinnamon rolls with orange icing are a delicious holiday treat with the delectable holiday combination of cranberry and orange. It’s the perfect blend of tart and sweet.

Two round plates with a cinnamon roll on each.

I’ve been making cinnamon rolls for years. They make a great snack, breakfast, potluck addition, or something for the kids to snack on after school, and over the years, my cinnamon roll recipes have served all of those functions. I’ve made every kind you can imagine from iced and frosted, homemade to store-bought.

Recently, I found a recipe for store-bought cinnamon rolls that are doctored up with delicious holiday flavors, and I’ve been loving them. I’ve made a few trial runs (you have to make sure, after all), and all I can say is that I’ll never look at cinnamon rolls the same again. After you try them, I know you won’t either.

Cranberry Orange Cinnamon Rolls

This recipe starts with refrigerated cinnamon rolls. From there, I make a homemade (but simple) cranberry orange sauce and top the cinnamon rolls with it. Finally, it’s all topped with a delicious brown sugar pecan mixture that forms a sweet and crunchy crust that sends these delicious cinnamon rolls right over the top! They’re amazing for any occasion, but the cranberry orange sauce makes them the perfect addition to any holiday table.

Recipe FAQ

Does Pillsbury still sell orange rolls?

Yes, they sure do, and they are available at most grocery stores and supermarkets that sell Pillsbury refrigerated dough products.

How do you make cinnamon rolls more moist?

The simplest way is to add heavy cream to the bottom of the baking dish before adding the cinnamon rolls. The heavy cream makes the cinnamon rolls extra tender and pillowy.

Can I freeze these cinnamon rolls?

Yes, you can. Cinnamon rolls freeze very well, when stored properly.

Can I make cinnamon rolls ahead of time?

While cinnamon rolls reheat relatively well, they’re the most delicious when served hot out of the oven. I don’t recommend making them ahead of time.

How to Store and Reheat Cranberry Orange Cinnamon Rolls

Store these covered at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can also refrigerate them in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze them for up to a month in an airtight, freezer-safe container.

To reheat, place the cinnamon rolls in a baking dish, cover, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 until heated through.
