I love chili cheese dogs. They’re so classic for the summer and the fall. During summer, you chow down on them at almost every backyard party that gets thrown, and in the fall, the hot chili and cheese over the dog is so perfect with the crisp weather and the crack of the bat or hike cadence. You really can’t beat this delicious hand-held meal. Or can you? I think maybe you can if you make it into a casserole. I’ve often said that anything that can be prepared in casserole form should be, and I think this chili cheese dog casserole is the perfect example of that. It gives us everything we love in this classic dog combo but in a scoopable form. It’s great for dinners, parties, and pretty much any kind of gathering.

Hi Camille, there is no buns with this recipe. We are using flour tortillas. :)

    These look yummy.
I think I would try a small amount of chili and or cheese in the tortillas with the hot dog. Maybe also very slightly brown the tortilla to help it not get soggy. I do this when I use the flour tortillas for my enchiladas .
