These Apple Pie Raviolis are small but packed with a punch. Tasting just as good as your grandma’s apple pie, these fall treats will have you feeling warm on the inside with your favorite autumn spices.

A close up photo of a white plate filled with a stack of apple pie raviolis on it with green apples and a white bowl filled with apple filling in the background.

These bite-sized raviolis are filled with a homemade apple pie filling with hints of cinnamon and then wrapped in a fluffy and flaky pie crust. Perfectly portioned and less mess than a full-size apple pie. These Apple Pie Raviolis are the finest of finger foods.

How to make homemade apple pie filling

Homemade apple pie filling is super easy to make and can be used for so many different fall dessert ideas. From full size pies to hand pies and mini apple pie bites. This homemade apple pie filling can also be used as a filling in a cinnamon spice cake, or served warm over your favorite vanilla bean ice cream. This delicious homemade apple pie filling will delight your home with inviting fall essence.

What kind of apples can be used to make Apple Raviolis

My go to apple for fall baking is always a Granny Smith apple. Granny Smith apples are both tart and sweet, and hold their shape and flavor while being cooked or baked. If your favorite baking apple is not a granny smith, try these recommendations for your mouthwatering and flavorful dessert.

  • Braeburn
  • Pink Lady
  • Jonagold
  • Cortland
  • Ginger Gold
  • Yellow Delicious
  • Gala

How to prevent pie filling from leaking from these Apple Pie Raviolis

While frying, the pie crust will fluff and pull apart at the seams if they are not sealed tight enough. Be sure to leave a wide crimped or sealed portion to prevent the apple pie filling from oozing out during the oil bath. Use plenty of pressure to seal the edges all the way around the raviolis. Here is a quick tip for fluffed pie shell. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the excess off after crimping.

Some for now, some for later

These Apple Pie Raviolis can be prepared and fried to a golden perfection right away, or you can make them ahead and save some for frying the next day. These versatile fall treats can even be frozen. They can be flash frozen and then placed in an airtight container or zip lock bag.

You can also let the apple pie raviolis set out for 20 to 30 minutes until the crust has dried out a bit. Afterwards, place them in a single layer in an airtight container or zip top bag. Place these raviolis in the freezer for up to 3 months.

If you are anything like me and you like to prepare ahead of time, place the apple pie raviolis in a single later in an airtight container. These raviolis can be refrigerated over night and baked the next day.

How about different shapes

For a more creative approach than a square or rectangle ravioli, try grabbing your favorite holiday themed cookie cutter. Use the cookie cutter to make your favorite fall leaves, turkeys, or even an apple shape then fill the pastry dough as necessary with the apple pie filling. The results will wow your guests!

How to store Apple Pie Raviolis after being cooked

Apple Pie Raviolis taste best and freshest the day of frying. Store these golden delectables in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

How to reheat Apple Pie Raviolis

Reheating these delicate little pastries is as simple and easy as pie! Place the raviolis on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and place them in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until warmed through. For a quicker nuke, place the raviolis on a microwave safe plate and warm them in the microwave for 30 seconds. In both reheating methods, watch for a hot filling. If the apple pie raviolis are hot to the touch, the filling will be even more so. No one likes burnt taste buds!

What to serve with Apple Pie Raviolis

These apple pie raviolis are so versatile, they can be served as a finger food at a holiday party or on your finest china at your Thanksgiving dinner celebration with family. For a casual approach, serve these tasty treats with a caramel dipping sauce or a creamy whipped topping. To make a big impression on your guests, place these apple pie raviolis on a plate then drizzle a caramel sauce over the raviolis. Serve with a side of whipped topping. A salted caramel sauce would be delicious too!

Don’t forget the ice cream!

There is nothing more delicious than a cold ice cream paired with a warm apple pie. Place a few of these heated raviolis in a bowl and top with the frozen treat. The American favorite with apple desserts is a classic vanilla. If you are feeling adventurous try a cinnamon flavored ice cream! Drizzle with caramel sauce and top with whipped cream. The possibilities are endless!

Who is not ready for apple picking and warm apple made desserts? Crisp chilly air, pumpkins, hot cocoa, hay rides, baking, falling leaves, family, the holidays and sweater weather?

In true Texas fashion, welcome to fall y’all!

These look delicious. Just one question…I’m not big on frying, do you think these will work in the air fryer?

Hi Diane, yes you sure can. Just spray the basket with non stick cooking spray and you might want to cut a slit in the top of each ravioli too before air frying. I’d preheat at 350° and air fry until golden brown.
