Your water should be around 110 degrees. Water that’s too cool won’t “wake up” your yeast, and water that’s too hot will outright kill it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although active dry yeast may come in powder form, don’t let it fool you into thinking that it will last forever. Yeast is a living thing, and if it’s too old, it’s already dead.
