Instructions

  • In a medium skillet, over low-medium heat, add oil. Sauté onions, garlic, mixed veggies and green onions. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Add eggs into skillet and scramble. Chop into small pieces, remove from the pan, and set aside.
  • Cook rice according to package directions and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over low-medium heat. Add brisket, rice, eggs, vegetables, sesame seeds, pepper, and soy sauce. Mix well.
  • Cook over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally until the brisket is heated through.

Notes

Storage

Place leftover brisket fried rice in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, simply add a little water to it and microwave for 3-5 minutes or until it is heated through, pausing every 30-40 seconds to stir.

Tips

  • Dice your brisket into small pieces for a classic fried rice texture.
  • If you have the time, cook your rice the day before. Day-old rice works better.
  • Although any rice can work, long- or medium-grain rice, such as Jasmine, is best.
  • Be sure to cook the fried rice on medium-low heat. All you need to do is heat it through.
  • To prevent stinging eyes when chopping onions, refrigerate them for about 30 minutes first.
