I love jalapeno poppers. They’re a classic appetizer for game days, backyard parties, and even afternoon snacking when you have leftovers. Guess what else I love. Bacon! I combined those two loves into one dish with this one. It takes classic poppers and wraps them in bacon for even more delicious flavor, and as we all know, bacon makes everything better! I serve these all the time for any occasion that I can think of, and once you try them, you will, too.

Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

These delicious poppers start with hollowed-out jalapenos that I fill with a delicious cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon mixture. Then, I wrap the poppers in more bacon until they’re covered, and I bake them until the bacon is crispy and the filling is nice and hot. When it’s all done, I have jalapeno poppers that are impossible to stop eating. And because they’re baked and not fried, I don’t have to contend with messy cleanup!

How to Make Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

Making these poppers is incredibly easy. You just do a little mixing, a little wrapping, and a little baking. That’s it!

Step 1: Prep

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil. Then, place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet. Set aside.

Step 2: Make the Filling

Mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and green onions together in a medium bowl.

Step 3: Stuff the Peppers

Place 1 or 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture into the hallowed-out jalapenos.

Step 4: Wrap

Wrap a slice of bacon lengthwise around the jalapenos to hold in the cream cheese mixture. Then, wrap 2 more slices of bacon around the jalapenos to cover them completely. Use toothpicks to hold the bacon in place.

Step 5: Bake

Place the poppers on the rack and bake for 35 minutes. Then, flip the jalapenos with tongs and bake for another 35 minutes until the bacon is crispy. Brush BBQ sauce on the poppers, if desired, and bake for another 10 minutes. Enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Wear gloves and wash your hands after handling hot peppers and never touch your face.
  • For the easiest mixing, soften your cream cheese first.

Variations

  • You can use chives in place of green onions.
  • Use your favorite variety of bacon for this recipe.
  • For an extra zippy flavor, add ranch dressing mix to the cream cheese mixture, or you can add a little garlic powder for a hint of garlic in the cream cheese.

What to Serve with Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

These poppers are perfect when served alongside your other favorite appetizers. Their flavor complements just about all of your favorite finger foods. They’re delicious when served with your favorite dipping sauce, as well.
