I love burgers. They’re a childhood favorite of mine that I carried with me all of my life. I’ve had them plain, and I’ve had them topped with everything from classic lettuce, tomato, and pickles to avocado, fried egg, and bacon. You name it, if it’s a burger I’ve had it. And while I’ve loved them all, the thing I always loved most about burgers was the actual burger that was sandwiched between the buns. A great burger is so good, you can eat it with nothing on it whatsoever – not even ketchup. Of course, that would be a bit boring. That’s why I created this bunless burger recipe that’s topped with leftover pulled pork. It’s an absolutely delicious take on this classic burger variation.

Bunless Burger with Leftover Pulled Pork

This delicious recipe is a low-carb option that focuses on the pure joy of the tastiest part of a burger – the meat! Perfectly cooked hamburgers are topped with zest BBQ pulled pork, two cheeses, and fried onions to create a meat lover’s feast that will have everyone coming back for more. It all starts with that burger. Cooked to perfect, juiciness, this burger is loaded up with your leftover BBQ pulled pork which is itself tender, juicy, and so delicious. When you add the cheeses and crispy fried onions, you get a recipe that’s perfect for any time of year but that’s most at home at backyard bashes or made for a delicious summertime, weekend meal.

Bunless Burger FAQ

If you have questions about this recipe, then read on. The following FAQ answers the most commonly asked questions about unless burgers.

Is this recipe keto?

No. While this is lower carb than a traditional burger, the BBQ sauce and crispy fried onions both have carbs. You can make it keto-friendly by using low-carb BBQ sauce and leaving off the fried onions.

Can these be made in advance?

Absolutely. There’s no bun so nothing gets soggy! The only thing to note is that you should add the fried onions right before serving.

What goes with bunless burgers?

Any topping that you would put on a regular burger goes with these bunless burgers because they are simply burgers with no hamburger buns. All the same flavors will still work.

I cooked this for lunch and it was awesome. The burger stayed juicy and the pulled pork on top added so much flavor. Didn’t even miss the bun.

This is VERY good! I actually did use brioche buns with it because I like my carbs. LOL
