How to Make Raspberry Jalapeno Bacon Jam

Step 1: Cook the bacon until very crispy. Then, transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels and pour the grease out of the pan. Crumble.

Step 2: Cook the raspberries and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Step 3: Cook the onions and jalapenos in the same skillet as the bacon until the onions are translucent. Then, add the garlic and cook until fragrant.

Step 4: Add the remaining ingredients to the pan and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes jam-like.
Expert Tips
- Let the bacon cool before crumbling. It will break apart more easily, and you won’t burn yourself!
- Stir your onion and garlic mixture continuously as you cook to keep the garlic from burning.
- Stir your sauce occasionally as it simmers to prevent sticking and scorching.
- Wash your hands thoroughly and NEVER touch your face when handling hot peppers.
Raspberry Jalapeno Jam FAQs
Yes, it will. The combination of the fruit’s natural pectin and simmering, which reduces the mixture’s moisture, will thicken the jam perfectly.
This jam is perfect with breakfast items like sausage and biscuits, burgers, sliders, main dishes like turkey, beef, or pork, or as an appetizer spread with your favorite crackers.
Refrigerate this jam for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
