Flavor Variations
- Meats: Use your favorite thinly sliced deli meat for this recipe.
- Cheese: Any melty cheese like Swiss, Provolone, Muenster, and the like will work well.
- Spicy: Add diced jalapenos to the slaw for a kick of heat.
- Slaw: Use shredded cabbage in place of lettuce for a more traditional coleslaw feel.
Instructions
1: Combine all the lettuce slaw ingredients in a medium bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate to chill.
2: Place the bottoms of the rolls on a baking sheet or in (2) 9×13 baking dishes and spread mayo and mustard over them.
3: Top the buns with Swiss cheese and then roast beef in even layers. Then, top them with the tops of the rolls.

4: Combine the melted butter and herbs in a small bowl. Then, brush the tops of the rolls with it.

7: Top the sliders with additional herb butter, serve, and enjoy!

Hint
Look for very lean roast beef at the deli to avoid any ribbons of chewy gristle or fat in your sliders.
Storage
Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Remove the slaw before refrigerating. Also, be aware that the longer these sliders are stored, the soggier they become.
To reheat the sliders, microwave them at 30-second intervals until warm, then top with the slaw again.

Pairing Suggestions
Pair these delicious hand-held sandwiches with classic sides like fried onion strings, baked beans, and red potato salad.
I like a brightly-flavored dessert to go with the deep, savory flavor of the sliders, so opt for dishes like lemon cheesecake bars, layered cherry cream cheese dessert, or lemon blueberry cake.
Tips
- When storing leftovers, be sure to remove the slaw from the sliders. This prevents a ton of excess moisture from soaking into the buns.
- If you prefer a sturdier slider, toast the insides of the buns before filling and baking them to prevent them from soaking up too much moisture.
- Easily slice your slider buns by cutting them all at once. Most slider buns are connected. Remove them in a single sheet, and slice through all of them at once with a serrated bread knife.

Frequently Asked Questions
When they were first introduced, sliders were very small hamburgers on buns. They got their name because they were so greasy they “slid right down”. These days. sliders are any kind of sandwich made with small buns and baked.
Soggy sliders are usually the result of not enjoying them immediately. Sliders should be served as soon as they’re prepared. Over time, the moisture from the filling soaks into the bread.
To slow the sogginess down, toast the inside of your slider buns. This creates a physical barrier against any moisture from the filling and toppings, keeping the buns firm longer.
